¡á Application Requirements

¡á Costs of Education (Year 2010)
(1) Application Fee: 60,000 Won (non-refundable)
(2) Tuition Fee Regular Program : Levels 1-6: 1,540,000 Won/quarter
     Advanced Research Level: 1,270,000 Won/quarter
     Afternoon classes: 1,310,000 Won/quarter
(3) Tuition fee reduction regulation
* Reduce 20% of tuition fee of one person in case brothers or sisters register at the same time.
* Reduce 20% of tuition fee of diplomats, government officials, or their families dispatched to government institutions of each country.
* Reduce 10% of tuition fee of Korea University fellows' sons or daughters.

¡á Visa
Those who will participate in the Korean Language and Culture Program must obtain a General Short-term (C-3) Visa or a General Student (D-4) Visa. But those who will be attending class for no longer than 4 weeks, and the Korean do not need a visa. (Required paperworks needed to get a visa could be different by country. Please contact korean embassy abroad at your residence in advance.)

(1) General Short-term (C-3) Visa
A C-3 visa allows a stay of up to 3 months in Korea. Students who plan to come for a special course or for only one quarter are advised to get this visa since it is issued immediately upon application at a Korean embassy or consulate. Students pressed for time can also enter Korea with a C-3 visa and within 90 days change it to a D-4 visa at the Immigration Office.

(2) General Student (D-4) Visa
Students planning to study in Korea for more than 3 months must apply for a D-4 visa. A D-4 visa is valid for 6 months and can be extended for up to one and a half years at the Immigration Office in Korea. A D-4 visa is issued about one month after providing a Korean embassy or consulate with your letter of admission, notarized letter of sponsorship, financial documents and other necessary papers. Therefore, start the process at the latest two months before the classes begin.

(3) Notarized Letter of Sponsorship
A notarized letter of sponsorship is required for a student visa. The sponsor must be an employed Korean adult living in Korea.(However, the applicant must submit a recommendation letter and a 30,000 Won fee and in case of enrollment, withdrawal or deferral is not allowed).

  ¡á Deferrals, Withdrawals, and Refunds
(1) Deferral: After completing registration procedures, if a student finds that he or she can's attend classes due to personal reasons, a deferral can be requested before the first day of class and granted once. If the student does not return for the specified session, his or her registration will be cancelled and tuition cannot be refunded.

(2) Withdrawal: To withdraw from the program, submit in person a written request stating the reason for withdrawal.

(3) Refund:
*Before classes start: 90% of the tuition
*Within the first week after the first day of class: 70% of the tuition
*After the first week: no refund
